The 16th Annual East Coast Gathering of Michael Students will take place at Sevenoaks Retreat Center near Charlottesville, VA between Tuesday, April 16, and Sunday, April 21, 2019. The Gathering is like the best family reunion you could ever imagine combined with adult summer camp. It's a time to hang out with like-minded people, make new friends, hear interesting and informative presentations, learn how others are applying the Teachings to their daily lives, take walks through the woods, meditate with a group, lead an activity, participate in fun or challenging games, relax by the river, create ceremony at the medicine wheel or labyrinth, share your experiences with others, and make essence contact. We would love for you to join us!
We will have
full use of this beautiful campus
from 4 pm on Sunday, April 14th until noon on Monday, April 22rd. Events,
however, will officially kick off with dinner on Tuesday, April 16th,
followed by a welcome party. Sessions, presentations and activities
will begin Wednesday morning and continue through Sunday lunch. Last
year, the majority of attendees found it most convenient to
travel on Tuesday and Sunday but you are welcome to attend for the
entire week or any
portion that works for you. See Program details on the Program Schedule
If it is more convenient for your travel plans or you
would like some time to enjoy the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains or Thomas Jefferson's estate Monticello, you
are welcome to stay on campus both Sunday and Monday, April 14-15, before
the event officially starts Tuesday evening and afterwards overnight
Sunday, April 21st. The meals onsite begin with Tuesday breakfast and
continue through Sunday lunch. Additional meals on the early and late
travel days may be available if there are enough people staying on
campus. Details on that will be announced as we get closer to the date.
As always, we
urge you to let us know your plans to attend as soon as you can. Even if
you are not absolutely sure, it is very helpful to the organizers to
know your intentions so that we can plan accordingly.
There is a discount for early registration and those who commit first
will have priority in the rooming arrangements on
campus, which is the most economical option. Off-campus
options are limited, mainly the Holiday Inn Express as
well as some nearby camping facilities, unless you can stay with friends
the area. See pricing and facility details on the Registration tab.
